Millions of Bicycles, amsterdam

The first thing you'll notice about Amsterdam is the narrow streets. Most times only wide enough for one car to drive through. The second thing that you notice about Amsterdam is that there are alot of bicycles. Millions perhaps. Because the gas is so expensive in Europe, the parking scarce and the streets narrow, it seems as though everybody rides a bike. And not even nice bicycles like you would see over here in North America. Not a Trek or a Cannondale or a Specialized but these really cheap, crappy looking bicycles. These bikes are readily available, most times for $10 - $20, and regularily stolen or "borrowed." Eventually left for the next person to steal or "borrow" them.
